
TOWN OF BOWDEN

BYLAW 07/2001
BEING A BYLAW TO AMEND BYLAW 03/2000, BEING A BYLAW TO
PROVIDE FOR THE REGULATING OF OPEN BURNING
WHEREAS, Sections 7, 8 and 9 of the Municipal Government Act, Province of Alberta, enables a Municipality to regulate fires and prevent nuisances;AND WHEREAS, open burning for cooking and recreational purposes that is contained within a non-combustible receptacle is allowed;
AND WHEREAS, it is desirable to restrict such burning for the purposes of fire safety and controlling nuisance effects on other properties in the vicinity of such fires;
NOW THEREFORE, the Council for the Town of Bowden in the Province of Alberta, duly assembled, enact as follows:
- Bylaw 03/2001 is amended by adding paragraph 6(a) which states:
6 (a) If, in the opinion of the Town Fire Chief or Chief Administrative Officer, conditions exist which require a fire ban in all or part of the Town, the Fire Chief or Chief Administrative Officer may issue and lift fire bans under the authority of this Bylaw.
- This Bylaw comes into full force and effect upon receiving third reading.
