BYLAW 06/2003

BEING A BYLAW TO AMEND BYLAW 18/2001, BEING A BYLAW FOR THE PURPOSE OF
PROVIDING FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT AND OPERATION OF FIRE PROTECTION SERVICES

WHEREAS, the Council of the Town of Bowden wishes to establish a fire service within the Municipality and to provide for efficient operation of such a fire service, all pursuant to the laws of the province of Alberta;

NOW THEREFORE, the Council for the Town of Bowden in the Province of Alberta, duly assembled, enact as follows:

1. Bylaw 18/2001 is amended as follows:

   3.1 Subject to an annual review the Fire Chief shall be appointed, by Council, at the annual organizational meeting of Council.

   3.3 The Council may appoint up to three Officers other than the Fire Chief and, in doing so, shall consider the recommendations of the Fire Chief. These other Officers shall be supervised by the Fire Chief;

   3.4 deleted

   3.6 Council shall establish rules, regulations, policies and committees necessary for the proper organization and administration of the Fire Department including, but not limited to:

   (a) use, care and protection of Fire Department Property;
   (b) conduct and discipline of Officers and Members of the Fire Department;
   (c) efficient operations of the Fire Department;
   (d) recruitment and training of Officers and Members of the Fire Department;

2. This Bylaw shall come into effect upon third and final reading.
